Bengies Top Ten 2013

Continuing an unbroken streak, more movie reviews - seen at The Bengies this year.

Last year(s) - 2012 / / 2011 / / 2010

My rules are to only pick movies that I saw at the Bengies, in whole or in part (trailers-only does not count). The marquee shots are not always from the same weekend I saw each flick, plus a couple of these I saw more than once, or twice.

1.  Despicable Me 2
2.  Star Trek Into Darkness
3.  Gravity
4.  42
5.  Thor The Dark World
6.  We're The Millers
7.  Planes
8.  Enders Game
9.  Man Of Steel
10.  The Lone Ranger / Iron Man 3 / Monsters University

Second Billing:

Recommended, even if they did not reach the top ten this year. Another shuffle play would give a different order most likely.

11.  Red 2
12.  Now You See Me
13.  Pacific Rim

SPECIAL MENTION  - THE SECOND ANNUAL SCOUTS BENGIES CAMPIN

Three great movies, and good weather, made this a fun event for Scouts and parents and siblings.

HONORABLE MENTION - 1980's GHOSTBUSTERs

DIGITAL CONVERSION 06-JUN-2013

A landmark change for the Bengies, moving from 35mm film to digital projection. I was worried about the image, but after seeing Star Trek with the new format, I am convinced this was the right change to make.  Better than ever!

All shots rejected twice for inclusion in Google Earth, mostly due to too much "mirror" or car parts in the image.  They could/should be cropped for retry.

Kerala Houseboat

Booked an afternoon cruise on the backwaters. Not my usual cup of tea, but it's said to be the thing to do. It turn out rather nicely.  The lobsters were an overboard afterthought.

We were late, the crew waited patiently for us.  Drinks?  Oh, perhaps.

No, not invited, sorry. Have a banana instead.

Racing for home.  Slowly.  With feeling.
